He is a key character in the Hindu epic, the Ramayana, known for his strong devotion to Rama. Hanuman is also one of the immortals in Hindu belief. His father is Vayu, the wind god, who played a role in Hanuman's birth in many stories. Hanuman appears in other important texts like the Mahabharata and various Puranas.
