Product Description

Brass Idol of the captivating Pancha-Mukhalinga, a revered symbol in Hinduism representing Lord Shiva's five divine aspects. Crafted with exquisite detail, this sacred linga embodies profound symbolism .

A four-faced linga is said also to represent the five aspects of Shiva, the fifth aspect is center, the shaft itself or is assumed to be emerging from the top of the shaft and denotes the formless Absolute. Thus, a four-faced mukhalinga can be also called pancha-mukhalinga ("linga with five faces" of Shiva)

Each of the five faces of the Pancha-Mukhalinga corresponds to different aspects of Shiva's cosmic presence. The top face, known as Ishana or Sadashiva, signifies the formless Absolute, ruling over the zenith and the sky. Sadyojata, the east face, embodies Mahadeva, the regent of the earth. Tatpurusha, found on the west face, symbolizes Nandi or Nandivaktra, representing the element of wind, Vayu. Vamadeva, facing north, represents Uma or Parvati, also known as Umavaktra or Tamreshvara, signifying water, Ap. Finally, Aghora, facing south, embodies Bhairava, representing fire, Agni.

The presence of these five aspects symbolizes the entirety of the universe, showcasing the interconnectedness of all elements. This sacred representation is steeped in tradition and spirituality, offering devotees a profound connection to the divine.

The Pancha-Mukhalinga holds particular significance in Hindu worship, with its origins tracing back to ancient times. Among the most commonly found mukhalingas, it carries a timeless legacy of reverence and devotion.

One notable example is the 13th-century Pancha-Mukhalinga located in Kalahasti, Andhra Pradesh. This sacred artifact, revered for centuries, highlights the depth of spiritual belief and the enduring presence of Lord Shiva in Hindu culture.

Experience the divine energy and profound symbolism of the Pancha-Mukhalinga, a testament to the eternal essence of Lord Shiva and the universe.
